My First Book Signing

Today I signed my first books as an author. It was pretty cool. I had been thinking for days on how to sign my name and what color ink to use. Do I use stylized initials, first initial last name or full name? Decisions, decisions. Seems trivial but I imagine most authors think about that at the beginning of their writing career. I settled on the full signature and blue ink. My co-worker brought in the two books he ordered the first day I knew they were available and asked me to sign them for his granddaughters. It is a very happy coincidence that May happens to be International Respect For Chickens month, with the 4th being the official day. Who knew? I do now. I gave my publisher the go ahead to launch the book on the 4th. I originally had hoped to have this process done and ready for the Christmas season but that didn't happen so this is the next best thing, if not better. Launching my book about Wendy the chicken in the month of May works out pretty nice.
